In our daily lives we meet many machines that need power to run, like RVs, golf carts, cell phones, and other devices. But do you really understand their batteries? In fact, the most popular batteries on the market today are three types: flooded batteries, lithium batteries and AGMs, so let’s go into the understanding of these three types of batteries today.

Definition of the three types of batteries
1. Flooded batteries: liquid-rich batteries are usually composed of electrode plates, partitions and electrolyte (usually dilute sulfuric acid), due to which the electrolyte is more, named liquid-rich batteries.
2. Lithium batteries: mainly divided into lithium metal batteries, and lithium ion batteries. Lithium metal batteries are disposable batteries, while lithium ion batteries can be recharged and used repeatedly. Lithium-ion batteries usually include lithium manganate, lithium cobaltate and other lithium-ion containing batteries.
3. AGM: AGM uses pure sulfuric acid aqueous solution as the electrolyte, so most of the electrolyte can be adsorbed on top of the glass fiber spacer, which is often referred to as adsorbed glass fiber spacer technology.
What are the advantages of each of the three types of batteries?
1. Flooded batteries: longer service life; larger battery capacity, long running time, and charging protection mechanism is perfect, so we can charge it all night or use it for a longer period of time; due to its lower cost, we can choose liquid-rich batteries when we have a lower budget; it can be operated continuously under higher temperature conditions; due to its simpler operation principle, we can maintain it by ourselves in our daily life; and finally, it has a higher recyclability. Recyclability is high.
2. Li-ion battery: longer running time; when we are in a hurry to use it, Li-ion battery can complete the rapid charging; stronger shock resistance, can be used in more rugged terrain.
3. AGM: longer service life; also has a very good battery protection system, can do often charge but will not damage the battery; battery performance is more excellent, even in a colder environment, can still maintain the stability of the performance; the ability to withstand vibration is stronger; and finally most of the materials belong to the renewable materials, the recycling rate is high.
What are the disadvantages of each of the three types of batteries?
1. Flooded batteries: usually liquid-rich lead-acid batteries, and lead-acid batteries due to material problems, usually has a characteristic: memory. Simply put, that is, when our battery power is not yet depleted, rush to charge, over time, the battery will make the battery to remember this amount of power, the next time you work, the battery will stop working when it reaches this amount of power. Therefore, when using liquid-rich lead-acid batteries, it is best to wait until the power is depleted before charging to prevent the battery from sustained damage.
2. Lithium batteries: Because they require the use of quite a bit of lithium in the manufacturing process, and the market price of lithium with a relatively high price, therefore, the price of lithium batteries is generally higher; in the low-temperature conditions, it requires longer charging time; there are certain safety issues, and a long time of charging may lead to battery heating.
3. AGM: due to the manufacturing process as well as the operation principle is more complex, resulting in the maintenance process of AGM is difficult; need to charge often.
Which type of battery better meets the market demand?
Not necessarily. Because there is no more catering only more suitable. All three types of batteries have their own advantages and disadvantages, depending on the specific needs of customers to buy. For example, if the buyer needs the battery to work at lower temperatures for a long time, then AGM, which still has strong performance at low temperatures, is more suitable for the buyer. Therefore, until more advanced batteries are researched, all three types of batteries are needed by the market, and it is not possible to single out one type of battery to say which one has a stronger performance and caters to the market demand more.
Summary
These three batteries are more common batteries in life, but the specific choice can refer to the advantages and disadvantages of the above three batteries, but also according to the buyer’s needs to buy batteries.
