1. How many batteries are there in the electric golf cart?

Generally speaking, the battery specifications we use are 6V,8V,12V, different trolley models require different number of batteries.

36V system

The common 36V golf cart needs six 6V batteries, connect them in series to reach the rated voltage of the 36V trolley, using three 12V batteries is also the same for series connection.

48V System

A 48V golf cart requires four 12V batteries, six 8V batteries, or eight 6V batteries, each of which can be connected in series to obtain the desired 48V voltage.

72V System

For the rare and powerful 72V electric golf carts, twelve 6V batteries, nine 8V batteries or six 12V batteries will be used in series.

Typically, to get the most out of our batteries, we connect them in series, so if you use other battery sizes, try counting to get the number of batteries used. However, sometimes multiple parallel connections are used to increase the capacity of the batteries.

2. Why is the number of Golf cart batteries so important?

(1) Choosing the right battery can reduce our replacement cost

Generally speaking, the replacement cycle of lead-acid batteries is 2~3 years, which is about 500-600 times; while the replacement cycle of lithium batteries is 5~10 years, which is about more than 6000 times.

(2) Reduce complex circuit connections

Batteries in electric golf carts need to be connected by wires to reach the required voltage, but the more batteries are used, the more cumbersome and complex the wires are connected, and it is easy to accidentally touch. However, the choice of large voltage lithium batteries can solve this problem. Now, we can use lithium batteries to replace a large number of lead-acid batteries, as well as to say goodbye to those cumbersome wires.

(3) Reduces the burden on golf carts

Too many batteries will increase the weight of the golf cart, add unnecessary work and waste the power of the batteries. Correctly choosing the number of batteries for your golf cart will not only increase the range of your cart, but also increase the battery life.
